The Fanet is a DIY recording label and production collective based in the Texas Hill Country.

Founded in 2019 by three friends in the throes of ennui, we strive to make creativity fun, easy, and accessible.

If that sounds like a mission you vibe with, stick around to see how you can GET INVOLVED!

Joseph R. Strom (he/THEY) - ProdUCTION, EDITING, PROJECT MANAGEMENT

I’m a dad, antifascist, musician, and producer, always on the lookout for new creative skills. I grew up alongside the internet and the popularization of nerd culture, so I’ve developed a healthy obsession with technology, gaming, and having opinions.

When I’m not working on a new project, I’m usually playing MUSIC or streaming on TWITCH. I also enjoy learning about emerging technologies and practicing new skills in the realms of audio and video production. I’ve managed websites (like the one you’re on now), illustrated and written for third party Dungeons and Dragons resource books, and played session bass for a black metal band.

You can contact me directly through THIS FORM, or send me an EMAIL if you’d like to get in touch.

Alexander AlsTon (he/him) - WRITING, DIRECTION, VOICE

I am Alexander, and like my compatriots, I have a passion for telling stories and expressing various facets of the human condition. I have been creating works in media of many styles for as long as I can remember, and have been a part of The Fanet since 2018.

I first delved into music when I was a child, learning original score from video games and translating those by ear at my parents' piano. Later I would learn the guitar, and as of this posting, I have been playing for twenty years. I played in a rock band in high school (which was bad), an instrumental band in my twenties (which was good), and now I create MUSIC under my full name (which I hope is GOOD), and experimental work under the name Black Fog (which is none of the above).

I have also created numerous short films, two of which are award winning. Ok, one of those awards was called “Wurst Film”, but I deserved it. On the side, I do voicework whenever I can, including freelance projects, a streaming of poetry reading on my Twitch channel, and of course voicing the Narrator and perhaps other characters on LORE CLUB releases from The Fanet

Jonathan Dockal (he/they) - VISUAL DESIGN, PRODUCTION, CONSULTING

Jonathan Dockal, also known as BORFBOO, is a Texas based artist.

Professional work includes drawing up concept art for a spectrum of games that have been featured on the iOS store, Steam, and Xbox live marketplace.

Commercial work includes graphic design and art direction for small local businesses as well as pitches for international ads, including clients like Cadbury.

Personal work is usually best described as a pendulum which swings from the cute and gentle to the horrifying.

Avid dog lover and Halloween obsessed.

JASON CAUSEY (HE/HIM) - PRODUCTION, DEVELOPMENT, SOFTWARE

My name's Jason. I am a software developer, musician, and general creative for The Fanet. As a musician I got my start when I was 8 years old on the piano and picked up electronic music writing 8 years later when I was 16. My style has changed wildly over the past 12 years (And just generally between tracks lol) but for the most part I write poppy, catchy music with a hint of comedy.

As a developer I got my start 8 years ago playing around with general algorithms and have since gotten my degree in Computer Science from the University of Texas. I love working on new projects and getting to stretch my creative problem solving skills be it through sound or software.

Also if your here to RECRUIT ME to a big company I want you to know I do NOT play video games or take naps. You can contact me via EMAIL.
